PIZZA & POSSIBILTIES

In March of 1988, John Policastro opened Mamma Mia in Hackensack, NJ – a small, dine-in restaurant and pizzeria that quickly blossomed into a beloved local stalwart. John attributes much of Mamma Mia’s success to his grandmother, who instilled a love and appreciation for delicious food and gracious hospitality within him.

Over the course of fifteen years, Mamma Mia firmly rooted itself at the center of Hackensack’s culinary scene, which inspired John to pursue expansion. Mamma Mia’s delivery service seamlessly segued into Personal Touch Catering and in turn in 2014 evolved into Personal Touch Experience.

A FULL CIRCLE

Throughout his expansion into catering and events, John has always remained true to his top priority: his appreciation for family—with his daughter Ashley at the helm of his experience team since 2011.

Full circle, Ashley’s husband Nick and his family used to frequent Mamma Mia’s when he was a young boy, growing up with the same strong passion for great food and hospitality. A match made in catering and hospitality heaven, Nick officially became part of the Personal Touch Experience family in 2016, bringing a fresh approach to style, detail, and precision—the finishing slice!

Absolutely! We believe every event is unique, and our culinary team will work with you to create a fully customized menu that reflects your preferences, dietary needs, and event vision. Whether you prefer plated dinners, interactive food stations, or buffets, we bring a personal touch to every menu.

Yes! We offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other allergen-friendly menu options. Let us know about any dietary requirements, and we’ll craft a menu that ensures all guests have an exceptional dining experience.

Yes, we offer private tastings for clients hosting a wedding, gala event and inquiring in office dining RFPs. If you would like to have a tasting prior to booking there is a fee which is subtracted from your final bill once our services are contracted. Tastings are by appointment only and are often hosted in January / February and July / August for events of 200 guests +.

We carefully plan our portion sizes to ensure all guests are satisfied, whether you choose plated meals, buffets, or family-style dining. Our team will determine the right quantities based on your guest count and event style.

Yes! We prioritize fresh, high-quality ingredients and work with local purveyors to source seasonal produce, meats, and seafood. Our menus reflect the best of what’s available during each season.

We recommend finalizing your menu at least three months before your event to ensure the best ingredient sourcing and preparation. However, we strive to accommodate last-minute changes when possible. A final menu and guest count is due 15 days prior to your event.
