Personal Touch Catering Experience - NYC Caterers

In March of 1988, John Policastro opened Mamma Mia in Hackensack, NJ – a small, dine-in restaurant and pizzeria that quickly blossomed into a beloved local stalwart. John attributes much of Mamma Mia’s success to his grandmother, who instilled a love and appreciation for delicious food and gracious hospitality within him.

Over the course of fifteen years, Mamma Mia firmly rooted itself at the center of Hackensack’s culinary scene, which inspired John to pursue expansion. Mamma Mia’s delivery service seamlessly segued into Personal Touch Catering (look at that logo on the left window!), and in turn in 2014 evolved into Personal Touch Experience.


Throughout his expansion to catering and events, John has always remained true to his top priority and appreciation for family – with his daughter Ashley at the helm of his experience team since 2011.

Full circle, Ashley’s husband Nick Allegretta’s family used to frequent Mamma Mia’s when he was a young boy, and was brought up with the same strong passion for great food and hospitality.

A match made in catering / event and hospitality heaven, Nick decided to officially become a part the Personal Touch Experience family in 2016. Bringing a fresh approach to style, detail and precision - the finishing slice!

With our continued growth, our humble beginnings still define our approach towards providing world-class hospitality. From an intimate celebration to a gala for a thousand, they will be treated just the same. Low key and causal or a black tie affair, dining under a tent in Conneticut or in a premier NYC venue, an office executive lunch in NJ or a five course plated meal - we have done it! And much like a good, authentic, fresh out the oven pizza - it never gets old - only gets better - and always makes you feel good!

This second generation is just warming up - the best is yet to come!
